2027 Northern Tier Summer Programs

Your Wilderness Adventure of a Lifetime begins here!

(The Ely base is located in Ely, MN, and the Atikokan Base is located in Atikokan, ON, Canada.)

Northern Tier canoe treks provide a unique experience to explore the rich wilderness habitats spread over

more than 3 million acres throughout the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness of Minnesota, or the

Crownlands and Quetico Provincial Park of Canada.

Ely and Atikokan canoe trek costs cover a maximum of 8 participants.

If you are visiting Atikokan and want to bring more than 8, you can bring up to 11 participants by

selecting the “Large Group Buy Up” during registration.

What better way to begin the ultimate scout adventure than with a float plane ride deep into the wilderness!

These 10-night float plane trips not only offer the unique opportunity to fly in a plane over the Canadian

wilderness, but also get your crew deeper into the woods on day one with all your gear!

Float planes are $12,850 per date, and a $350 deposit is due today to secure your reservation.

There is only one float plane available per date. If the date you desire is not shown, then it has already been taken.

These 11-night Grand Portage trips travel from the Northern Tier Ely Base east towards Lake Superior along the international

boundary and conclude at Grand Portage National Monument. You will receive a shuttle on your last trail day from the

National Monument back to the Ely base, with the option to stop and visit High Falls (the tallest waterfall in Minnesota) along the way.

Grand Portage adventures are $13,984 per date, and a $350 deposit is due today to secure your reservation.
