2025 Camp Ranger Basic
The Camp Ranger Basic course focuses on preparing a Camp Ranger to serve in this critical Scouting role. Camp Rangers often have a wide variety of responsibilities based on the local council’s situation. Camp Rangers may function as caretakers, assistant rangers, rangers and in large operations, property superintendents. In all cases, they are the resident property managers in local BSA camps. The complexities of maintaining the physical plant, combined with the soft skills of customer service, budget management and supervision of staff and volunteers, requires a comprehensive initial training program combined with a robust continuing education plan. This training course addresses the hard (trade) and soft (people) skill needed for peak performance. Three courses are held annually.
